STROP DESCRIPTION AND STATS.

SSC specialises specifically in hand-made Kangaroo leather strops - all proudly made in Australia.

These premium, class leading tools are the result of endless prototyping - utilising specifically selected materials.

This tough, little pocket rocket sized strop, is made from a combination of a piece of naturally finished, premium, thin cut Kangaroo leather - approximately 1.5mm/0.06" thick, that is then mounted flesh (suede) side up, to a 10mm/0.4" thick precision CNC cut piece of gloss black polycarbonate.

Fused together these matiarials make for a completey flat, light weight, hard-wearing strop. Also, these strops will also accept any stropping abrasive you choose to charge them with.

All SSC. products are of the highest standards, with each strop undergoing a thorough QC process, to insure you get nothing but the best.

Benefits of Kangaroo Leather.

Kangroo leather is so effective due to it's unique properties.
It's renound for its fine, and tightly woven flesh fibers along with its abundance of natural abrasive silicates.

For those unfamiliar, kangaroo leather is a highly sustainable material sourced from Australia’s well-managed populations, where regulated culling supports well established environmental practices.

Its performance is driven by a fine, tightly woven, and highly uniform fiber structure, combined with naturally occurring abrasive silicates.
This gives the material a notable level of inherent abrasiveness, allowing it to perform exceptionally well even in its bare state.

Structurally, kangaroo leather is lightweight, dimensionally stable, and highly resistant to deformation under pressure. This greatly minimises the potential of surface “wave” effect common in thicker leathers, where surface malleability can cause the material to roll over the apex and rounding the edge.

Testing across a range of stainless and tool steels showed excellent burr removal and effective realignment of oyur apex, with consistently strong performance - even with high-HRC steels, particularly notable when paired with a quality diamond emulsion and paired with a firm completely flat substrate like polycarbonate.
