These are among the best strops if using an emulsion diamond or cbn, the density of the leather allows for a perfect angle when stropping, and holds the abrasive at the surface extremely well, when its time its super easy to clean off and reapply

I recently had the opportunity to use the suede side Big Roo on 2 knives.

They were a 210mm Yoshihiro gyuto in VG10 at 60 HRC and a 150mm Yoshihiro petty also in VG10 at 60 HRC.

I used 1 micron Stroppy Stuff diamond emulsion and had great results. The strop had good feedback, feels very durable, and the large size was very easy to handle and provided a lot of surface area for larger Japanese kitchen knives.

I’m looking forward to using these strops for many years to come. Check me out using them on YouTube on my dedicated watch and knife channel called ChronoSteel.

I purchased the "BIG ROO" Large Size Strop about 8 months ago. I was it to apply Jemde Poly Diamond Emulsion 0.5 micron to my collection of Japanese Knives. The best result I have ever achieved. If you want great sharp and polished knives I suggest this is the way to go. Bob
